Wanda Cobar was born and raised in Chicago, In 1993 she had an unexpected knee surgery that left her bedridden for 6 months, to make time pass she started reading Vogue and Bazaar magazines and became greatly inspired by fashion and decided to study Merchandising in 1994 at Northwestern Business College. Already having an art background from elementary school and studying drafting in high school it only made sense that these skills would help her at William Rainey Harper College where she took 2 years of fashion design in 1996.

In 1998, with only having a years worth of sewing experience she was selected to compete at the
CONCOURS INTERNATIONAL DES JEUNES CRÉATEURS” Competition in Paris, France. Her garment was made out of lenticular plastic and oak tag paper.
In 1999, she received a one month scholarship to study at the American Intercontinental University in London. Upon her return she began working for various design companies such as Alyce Designs and Amerex Kids Group.
In 2000 she was hired by the dance dept at Stevenson High School to design dance costumes and currently continues to design for them.

These work experiences have greatly inspired the styles that Wanda Cobar creates. Each piece has a striking personality to satisfy the individual looking for something unique. Today Wanda Cobar works one on one with personal clientele and sells her work at various fashion events.
